What do I really need in my new home

When you look at the potential specs for a house, there’s always the danger of getting too excited falling in love with every little extra feature and upgrade. We know there’s a lot to choose from so we’ve created some guidelines to figure out your “I need this” and the “I want this!” from the “I wish I could have this someday”.

So let’s break it down–

“I definitely want these particular things.”

First thing’s first: take a look at your family’s lifestyle. How many rooms do you need? How important is an outdoor area? Is there a chance your family will be getting bigger in the future? Is making big meals for your family and friends your thing? Do you have kids who’d benefit from a study or are you going to be running a home business that will require an office? Or do you want ducted air con to keep your home comfortable all year round?

These questions will give you an idea of the things that are absolute necessities, so it’s worthwhile really taking the time to answer them carefully. Make sure you open up the discussion to the rest of the family too, they may have different ideas on what will meet their needs for your new home. Luckily, with GO Homes have a wide range of home designs that will fit every family’s needs, and with our Ultimate Inclusions, things like 900mm premium kitchen appliances, Essastone benchtops  & Fujitsu ducted reverse cycle air conditioning are all included.

“I want these things, but they’re nice-to-haves.”

Now this is the stuff that you’d like to have, but maybe you could do without. For example, sure a home theatre would be great to have, but you could probably make do with a TV in the living area. Maybe it would be nice to have those little extra like tiling or some upgraded fixtures.

Having said that, our homes come with a lot of nice-to-haves included, like luxury bathroom fixtures, a technology package, and softers closers included on our cabinets – which will give your home that extra something that will take it to the next level.

“I want these things, but at a later date.”

Some things can wait. And a home isn’t set in stone, so don’t feel like you need to get everything right away. You can renovate rooms, add or change things up at a later date – like turning a games room into a nursery.

And at GO Homes we’ve thought of the future, with our home having a NatHERs 6 star energy rating as standard and things like Clipsal Iconic Smart Wiring that will make adding in smart automation to your home a breeze.

It’s easy to start getting caught up on all the things that you can upgrade your home to, but with GO Homes, we have a long list of specifications and additional Ultimate Inclusion package. You’ll have piece of mind knowing your home will have the features you need to move in and start making memories with your family – and that’s what really matters.
